Wheels, why again?

A funny quote I found in an old post on Wired, it is by Paul Saffos and describes the increasing role of computers and electronics in our cars. The software is the real added value, all car makers build boxes of steel with wheels, but to add value for your customer, software and electronics are the key.

The wheels are primarily there to keep the computers from dragging on the ground.
— Paul Saffo

Wheels are becoming less relevant then, despite that when kids draw a car, it still resembles a box on wheels.
