Starting something new, joining people or improving on an idea. The joy it brings and the strategies often employed to implement this new thing. Then consider that an exit strategy is often overlooked, or flat out ignored. Why?
In the energy transition, we are globally phasing out fossil fuels. But this transition also shows us, that when we installed this fossil-based equipment, not much thought was given to a proper exit. Was it because an exit was unimaginable? Or because projecting an exit, would bring associated costs with It, that had to be accounted for?
I think it only makes sense to consider an exit strategy this time when installing our new sustainable energy infrastructure now and upfront. I can not imagine we will have to break it down any time soon, but within the concepts of Cradle-2-Cradle and good stewardship, it is the sensible thing to do.
What is your exit strategy?
