You are probably familiar with the statistics being brought up in range anxiety discussions. The average person in the Western World only drives so little on his daily commute. While received with some skepticism, they appear to hold after research of field trials with EVs. In fact, the majority of all trips we do can easily be covered by an EV. Monthly mileage averaged about 800 -- the equivalent of almost 10,000 miles a year.
"These aren't hobby cars, these aren't weekend cars," said Mike Ferry, transportation programs manager for the energy center. "They are everyday use cars."
I'm interested to find out how this holds with the current amount of EV drivers in the Netherlands. There are less people with their own driveways here, so it depends a lot more on charging in the public space.
