The Battery Production Race: The Better Question

2019-07-17 | energy The Battery Production Race: The Better Question

Friendly competition can help. In other cases if we all fall short, we all lose.

Competition can be a good thing and often even productive. But comparing the global battery production plans as a race where a country/continent wins:

“However, neither region will come anywhere close to matching the battery manufacturing capacity forecast for China.” - Europe Set to Race Past US in Battery Manufacturing

This hardly seems the most relevant question to me. If the total capacity is still too low to have a succesfull energy transition, we all lose anyway. That’s the better question.
