Innovation Funded by Play Money?

2019-12-09 | innovation Innovation Funded by Play Money?

So you don’t have any “Play Money” to burn on innovation? Good. This game takes commitment, not a wasteful mindset.

From talking to different industries, a typical response to innovation pops up:

“We don’t have any play money to spend on innovation!”

Which struck me as odd, since:

  • Nobody ever bought stable returns with play money,

  • Is there some form of jealousy, that other companies do have budgets to innovate?

  • Is the goal of such projects not seen and therefore considered wasteful?

The wise companies spend smart money on innovation:

  • They make sure they understand what they are aiming for,

  • They have a reasonable guess of their chance of success.

“Educated Guesses over Burning Play Money.”

I would take Educated Guesses over Burning Play Money any day.

Need help making educated guesses and eliminate the 'Play Money' from the equation? Let me help you play for real instead.
